A privileged region located in northern Spain for  growing grapes and making top-quality wines, with a unique personality and an exceptional aptitude for ageing.  Tempranillo grape makes Rioja reds very balanced wines by having a body and structure offset perfectly by a gentle  and elegant flavour and by being mainly fruity in nature  when young and more velvety when aged.

It is located in Castilla y León, 2 hours north from  Madrid, and is one of the apellations of origin with a huge international prestige in the world. The winemakers  combine traditional expertise with new technologies to  define their individual style. Wine must be 75 percent  Tempranillo to be recognized by the D.O. styles, such as  “Roble”, “Crianza”, “Reserva” and “Gran Reserva”.

Rueda officially became a D.O. (Apellation of Origin)  in 1980 and Verdejo grape is it hallmark. This grape  variety arrived to this region during the 11th century.
